http://www.ted.com In a culture where being social and outgoing are prized above all else, it can be difficult, even shameful, to be an introvert. But, as Susan Cain argues in this passionate talk, introverts bring extraordinary talents and abilities to the world, and should be encouraged and celebrated.
TEDTalks is a daily video podcast of the best talks and performances from the TED Conference, where the world's leading thinkers and doers give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes. Featured speakers have included Al Gore on climate change, Philippe Starck on design, Jill Bolte Taylor on observing her own stroke, Nicholas Negroponte on One Laptop per Child, Jane Goodall on chimpanzees, Bill Gates on malaria and mosquitoes, Pattie Maes on the "Sixth Sense" wearable tech, and "Lost" producer JJ Abrams on the allure of mystery. TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design, and TEDTalks cover these topics as well as science, business, development and the arts. Closed captions and translated subtitles in a variety of languages are now available on TED.com, at http://www.ted.com/translate

She wasn't trying to say that being an extrovert is a bad thing, but rather our society today is set up more for extroverts and that needs to be changed, that was her purpose.

She never said there weren't great extroverts, or that extroverts are bad. This talk just happens to be about introverts.

she tried to conform to the extrovert model, became a wall street lawyer and gave a TED talk saying that introverts are awesome.
introverts don't 'bring' their talents to the world, extroverts have to drag those ideas out of them.

Just because she says that introverts have potential does not mean she is condemning extroverts. If people think that she is they have misunderstood her.

This girl is so full of shit. Ofc there are great introvert people as there are great extrovert persons in this world. Speach like this only makes extroverts look bad for no reason.

One of our gifts about being introverted is that we don't NEED people around us to be content and happy!! Extroverts would probably self-explode!!!
Another is, we are great listeners!! Extroverts would lie and bullshit just to be able to satisfy that NEED TO TALK!!
There are many many more, but validation is not our need.
