Hi, Thank you for this video clip. Beautiful music! I watch this show while I was very young. It brings back the memories. We do not have such wonderful groups nowadays! Really miss this show!

great video, racists? not as if Don and the band are blacked up! Was Al Jolson racist??? Doesn`t matter if a artist is black or white, great talent always shines through

@atlantic1952 ...this show is racist. There's also a long tradition of slavery, with very efficient overhead costs to employers... applying your reasoning, is this still a worthy argument?

I see an Arbiter!

Nice one Mr Lusher the best,is that Alf Bigden on drums ? i think it is ,good stuff !!!

Thanks for the bass player ID. I love that style of funky jazz bass with a plectrum, very KPM indeed! I'm sure I must have heard this guy on many recordings, I'll look out for his name from now on. 10 points for identifying the type of strings!

I agree!

Una paloma blanca
I'm just a bird in the sky
Don Lushers 1967 CBS L.P. "Makin Whoopee" is superb-look out for a copy on ebay
This show wasnt racist ; there is a long tradition of blacked up minstrels and this show featured first class music, high tv production values and good singing. Better than the wall to wall shite we have on tv now on a saturday.

Hi and thanks for the comments. You are so right about rubbish on now. If the BBC didnt waste so much licence payer money on obscene pay deals awarded to executives and so called 'stars' there might once again be the money to produce proper programmes again.
