Trip to NYC with my friends, got to see this beautiful church. Reminded us of Notre Dame kinda so I was Quasimodo for a bit at the end :"

  • I hope the cathedral will have real bells a day... it will be a shame if not ;D

  • The cathedral is permanently unfinished, including the bell tower, hence no actual bells.

  • Wow! Well the church St.Josephs here in Kings Park on Long Island has a speaker and a bell at the top...But the bell in this video is a speaker I can tell by the magnificant sounds quality...Very nice vid

  • Those are Schulmerich electronic bells. They use digital samples of real bells and play them from speakers. No real bells (or Quasimodos) were heard in this video.

Why a wealthy and magnificent church like this would stoop to using electronic bells is beyond me.

  • what do you mean?
