a video competition by the British High Commission in Brunei Darussalam.

A short film by:
Ahmad Hanif Buang

Titled: "Friday, Day"

A short film about the daily routine of a Bruneian student in University of Kent, Canterbury. The aim of this video is to show the reality of a Bruneian student life in UK.

You stayed up late doing readings and research, that you will tend to sleep and eat whenever you possibly can. The dirty dishes does not only represents the lack of time due to coping with uni work but it also represents the "old habits" of leaving the dishes in the sink hoping that someone will wash it for you such as your maid, mother or siblings. and lastly, this video shows that not everyone has the capability of strong social interactions skills and the ability to cope with the change of environment.

i have encountered meeting and talking to people who have went through this in their life in Uk. Basically my inspirations in making this film comes from them and this is me representing the minority.

script:

My grandmother once told me that, the life in uk is " indah khabar dari rupa". Now i really understand what she meant. Different people have their own perspective. Well, it's up to you how you take it. - Ahmad Hanif Buang
