  • where were the orange line tracks as opposed to the these tracks?

  • @Sox7mba Up until sometime in the early 1970s the Orange Line tracks were elevated and at about where I was standing. In 1988 I believe they were underground, again about where I was standing. The Orange Line was rerouted in the 70s. It used to go to Everett. Now it goes to Malden.

  • that boeing lrv i saw doesnt seem to be around in the photos of the past.i think they were moved to san francisco when they got diffrent model of it.

  • Both Boston and San Francisco got some of these vehicles.

  • You can see the old Boston Garden in the background. The tracks are now underground. The location is at the intersection of Surface road and New Chardon street, out side of the Haymarket subway stop. Great video of the old days.

  • I live in Boston. Now if they can only plug the leaks in the big tunnel.

  • @PKingman now in MBTA, everyone are not allow to flim. not in public area so photograpy are banned.

    MBTA rule.... DAMN YOU MBTA!

  • @PKingman Why did they destroy the elevated tracks to Everett and reroutre the line to Malden.

  • @PKingman Oh, I didn't know it used to go to Everett. I live in Danvers and Oak Grove is only a short 20 minute drive away, so I'm glad it's been rerouted. I hope eventually the "E" Branch of the Green Line continues service to Arborway

  • Ah memories. At the time of this video, I was 2 years old and I remember the tracks. Correct me if I'm wrong but the C/E line used to go to Lechmere and the B/D Lines used to go North Station. North Station was divided into two, the Lechmere route (elevated; shown) and the B/D terminal at ground level. Now, North Station is underground and by the look of it, there is a control station and terminal there. The terminus goes as followed: E - Lechmere, C - North Station, B/D Government St.

  • The completely removed and realigned them underground. At the top of this incline in the vid was the last stop on the elevated Green Line before going underground, but now it's the first stop underground. The incline is now just after the previous station.

  • Saint patricks day 07 to be exact. last boeing in service that day was on the D line.
