@waynerjson Hey Wayne, now you're in big trouble.....lol. I have to say, I love the GE series, they are incredible guitars, but the Authentics are on another level all together. On the other hand, while I love have the Authentics, I'm still keeping my D-18GE, it has a very special voice too. I go with the idea that one can never have too many D-18's....

@jmstern22 Just got a 1949 D18 today!!!!!!! It is dry as a bone and projects like a cannon. It's hard to believe that it is straight braced and not scalloped. I may get it scalloped or might leave it as is. Life is good.

@waynerjson How fun. Enjoy it. My only advice is, if you like the sound now, don't mess with it. In my experience modifications never quite work the way you'd think...Have fun with it, it sounds like a great guitar.

@jmstern22 Good advice. Do a YouTube search on Dan Lashbrook....he modified my GE D-18. He is like a mad scientist when it comes to the quest of more guitar sound. If you're anywhere near NC, I highly recommend him. He is reasonable and honest.

@waynerjson Sorry to take so long replying. I've heard of Dan, it seems like folks either lover him or hate him. There doesn't seem to be much in between....lol. I think there's always a bit of crazy mixed in with genius...
