IBEX is a NASA mission that will for the first time take a picture of the edge of our solar system. This video explains the way IBEX will create a global map of the boundaries of our solar system. IBEX uses energetic neutral atoms to map these boundaries. The Voyagers spacecraft launched in the 1970s is looking at two points only, while IBEX images the global structure of the boundaries that surround our solar system.

whether our mental capacity is limited or not, whether our tools for understanding nature is limited or not, means very little next to the idea that one would PREFER limitation of that sort.

it suggests an unwillingness to push the boundaries of what we as a species can accomplish.

Well it's called evolution and our minds aren't capable of some things,we may think our mind is smart,it may be smart to the early stage of homo sapiens but if you look closely in a matter of speaking,you will notice the human brain isn't that smart,I would say clumbsy. Ask any scientist and you would get the same answer,and thumbing my comment down only makes you ignorant.

We need to map the solar system like we do planets from orbit. We didnt understand much of anything about the earth until we looked down from above.
