  • Curious about your choice of materials. I assume this is going to be a stationary table? Looks like you've got close to 3 sheets of 3/4 MDF, plus a 2x6 (?) outer frame. That's going to be one HEAVY mofo -- 300lbs or better!

    1/2" plywood ribs would be more rigid, allow a shallower box, and at a fraction of the weight. Also, no need for 3/4" skins - this adds almost nothing to the rigidity. Instead, use 1/2" (or even 1/4" !) skins, with a replaceble sacrificial top.
