  • Is this not illegal in the states or something? I hate it (as do most car drivers) when people do this. So dangerous and stupid.

  • @SpawtAwnProductions I still don't understand why you car drivers would "hate" when motorcycles do this.. would you rather we jump in cars and make the traffic worse for you? would you rather we sit on bikes IN traffic and make the traffic worse for you? You would probably be BETTER off with MORE drivers from the cars lessening traffic by getting on bikes and weaving their way through and off the road faster... Why would a biker zipping by you, not slowing you down at all, make you hate them?

  • @CAShelbyGT350S Well for a start I've had my car damaged before thanks to motorbike drivers who do this and don't wait up (at the end of the day if they are willing to break the law they'll run from an accident too?). Also what gives bike drivers the god given right to do it? I'm sure if cars where zipping around you causing near accidents you wouldn't be too happy as it could damage your bike?

Sit behind the rest of the traffic you have to abide the same laws as everyone else

  • @SpawtAwnProductions First off, I can't pretend to apologize for any rider who causes you damage and doesn't stop. I imagine there are just as many hit'n'runners behind the wheel of car. Just a sad fact of society and probability. I am sure more cars would take off from accidents if it were as easy as it is for bikers ( not that I am condoning ).

Secondly, the god given right is given to us by the state of California, where lane splitting/sharing is legal.

  • @SpawtAwnProductions I imagine most of your angst stems from your frustration of sitting in traffic and seeing someone zip by ahead of you. I can imagine how discouraging that can be. On the rare occasion I drive on my commute, and inevitably sit in traffic, I feel the same palpable anger, in which you have to realize, is directed towards yourself for driving in the first place. This is why I ride, rain or shine, and effortlessly slip past the slow moving metal coffins of the unlucky commuters.

  • and not one police cruiser?

  • @jonathaninfamous almost never, as most of traffic is traveling under the speed limit, so no need for any traps. Also, it's pretty difficult for a cruiser to split lanes and go after any bikes..

  • @PRMR1150RT I am not sure where you're from, but the CA drivers seem to be pretty used to motorcycles and lane sharing. In general, they either never really see me until I pass or pull over to give me more room. I have never had anyone purposely try to take me out. I honestly feel safer being around a car for a split second then riding in a pocket of cars for any length of time. I do this every day, 85 miles a day. And believe me, I am just as much and probably more concerned than you are...

  • @Pacu4603 They basically stopped making them in 2008 with a very limited run in 2009. It would be very difficult to find a new one at this point, but I have seen used ones pop up once in a while. Unfortunately Ducati has moved on to the hideous, plastic, Autobot looking monstrosities, such as the Diavel, and stopped making these classic beauties.

  • youve just inspired me to buy a bike. How much was your bike??

  • one word- freedom!

  • i have nothing against splitting lanes i admit that it can get you in a "zone" you're very very aware of your surroundings ..bikers will understand what i mean. if i might add please keep track of your blinkers you leave them on way to often and you're not swithcing lanes. As riders if were going to do things that will piss off car drivers and is bend the laws in our country at least.. set a good example.. it's for your safety it's like a game for me. try and signal all you intentions

  • Balls of steel, sir. Balls of steel. lol.

  • Ridin like a boss.

  • Awesome riding! I live in the Monterey area and I don't trust people enough to do what you do, power to ya!

  • How much was your Ducati?

  • What are those two fluids in the containers on the handle bars? Or, at least, they look like fluids.

  • I liked the little wave to the fellow rider
