The Medieval Siege Society attack Hedingham Castle

The Barons are back and they want Hedingham Castle returning to its rightful owners, The Medieval Siege Society will be helping to reclaim the Castle from The King.

Went to see these today, very impressive. They did two battle re-enactments (Yorks and Lancasters), there was a medieval village with period food, weapons and a working trebuchet. Although it was firing cabbages.

Although they did have some real arrows, for this they used arrows with rubber tips as they would be too dangerous otherwise.

@Elite697 You are supposed to go down if hit,some do ,some don't. I was at this event last week end as an archer,I was hit twice,on the shoulder on sunday and just below the left knee on the monday,I still have the bruises!

@hudsomi1 Can't you still blind someone with that? Some of the archers have really bad head protectino at best.

So this is a re-enactment of a War of the Roses battle? This castle was also taken by King John from Robert de Vere (3rd Earl of Oxford, and 1 of 25 Magna Charta Barons) soon after the signing of the Magna Charta in 1215.

Lol, King John was something. The Pope had excommunicated John and everyone in England (making everyone in England feel they were condemned to Hell). So John gave Ireland to the Pope. Next the Pope un-excommunicated John and excommunicated the Barons instead. Haha! (politics)

@Elite697 well if u were on a war and u had heavy armor and u were shot with 1 arrow would you go down? No. Ur armor is pretty hard but if your a archer yes u die BUT if u were wearing heavy armor and u were shot lets say in the head yes u go down oviusly :P

its not real arrows, im a member of the mss, but if u get shot (and u are not wearing armour, like if u are an archer) it HURTS lol

i was pretty sure that they didnt use real arrows cuz i would be sure no 1 would want 2 do it then lol. But if u got hit by 1 would u go down??
