Michael Moore Takes On the Westboro Baptist Church

In 1999, Michael Moore organized a humorous counter protest against the Westboro Baptist Church for his television show, The Awful Truth. He followed Phelps and his gang around the country in the "Sodomobile," a pink bus filled with gay men and women who proceeded to do things that god is apparently not a fan of. Margie Phelps herself litigated before SCOTUS in Snyder v Phelps and of course Phelps won - which was a given because they have won many other cases in lower courts because they are wise enough to know which legal lines not to cross.
* Margie spoke to a crowd after appearing before SCOTUS and said that if the funeral is private they will not protest, but when a funeral announcement is published in a paper then then they show up. *Don't publish funeral date to keep them away*
