There's a tidal wave of mysticism
Surging through our space-aged generation
It's all designed to take us to the sky
Feeling good is the bait, Satan uses to fish for you and me
Comfort is the poison when it's the spirit he wants to kill
You know what?

I love this album by Me'shell, but when I first heard her rendition of Funkadelic's
"Better By The Pound" I almost didn't recognize it!--It slowly grew on me.
Caron Wheeler still sounds good..I always said her 1990 debut "U.K. Blak" and Me'Shell's
1993 "Plantation Lullabies" really heralded the coming of Neo-Soul in the states!
Both their albums were way ahead of the curve!
D'Angelo, Maxwell & Erykah Badu are
usually credited though.

Thanks for bringing up Caron's 'UK Blak'! Awesome CD mainly produced by Carl McIntosh (of Loose Ends) among others. Shoot you can make an arguement that both Loose Ends & Soul II Soul kicked off the Neo Soul movement....great music!!

Thanks Muzik, I also love 'Cookie'. The 8+ minute Lazy Dog remix for 'Earth' is also hot. I really prefer Meshell's version of 'Better By The Pound' as opposed to Funkadelic's original.
