I would like to become a midwife. Do I have to go through nursing school first? Or can I go straight to Midwife school?

There are a few ways to become a midwife. We did a program which required that you have a BSN (from nursing school). You then get a MSN (master's in nursing) which allows you to be a CNM, do deliveries in hospitals. There are other routes for becoming a midwife that would not require nursing school. The Midwives of North America or MANA (mana.org) has great descriptions of the various routes for becoming a midwife. I wish you the best of luck - it is a rewarding and challanging profession!
