By John 6:44-45 we know that no one can come to Jesus unless the Father draws him and that everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Jesus.

Keep your eyes on Jesus! He gave us an, and is the, example of how we are to be and thus how we are to live. Assuredly the other was forgiven because of his faith! and not any other reason. By his faith he rebuked the the other criminal (Luke 23:40), by his faith he knew that Christ Jesus had done nothing wrong (Luke 23:41), and most of all by his faith he knew and confessed that Christ Jesus was Lord (Luke 23:42). Only the Father could have revealed such to him. (I will continue in next reply)

@Devolutionism God demonstrates his fury every day , today some fire fighters were struck by lightning while fighting a fire, what about the earthquake and tsunamii in Japan. Every single day thousands die and enter hell. Earthquakes floods, wildfires in texax, droughts famines happening right now in africa, war, genocide, you live in a touchy feeley fantasy. God is angry with the wicked everyday.

@Devolutionism You seem to ignore that Jesus said , straight and narrow is the path to life and few find it.
Wide and easy is the path to destruction and may find it. the default for humankind is wrath judgment and Hell. all sin is extremely offensive to God. only a very small remnant will be saved. Dont try to make the narrow path the wide one.

The thief on the cross acknowledged his sin, and thereby demonstrated that he was loved by God. Only God thru the Holy Spirit can make us sensible of our sin and our need. Some ppl think that it is the other way round. Gods love and mercy are not bestowed upon a man for any merit or goodness or any deeds of his own, it is utterly by the sovriegn will of God.

@europeanguns I'd say mercy and slow to anger is are qualities of his good side! In fact God's violent wrath was only visited upon humans in extreme cases such as Sodom or the Flood, other times it was to a lesser extent like the exampled coty gave. So I think it'd be safe to say that his loving side far exceeds the qualities we perceive as negative.
