Like colonosophys and other medical procedures where slight bleeding can be normal, PATIENTS SHOULD ALSO BE WARNED NOT TO TAKE ASPIRIN OR OTHER BLOOD THINNERS FOR A PERIOD OF TIME BEFORE AND AFTER INFRARED COAGULATION HEMORRHOID TREATMENTS! Rectal ulcers can result if the patient's blood does not clot several days after the procedure! The only way to treat severe rectal ulcers is by stitching the inside of the patient's rectum and most likely causing other problems like chronic anal fissures!

This is a very quick and effective treatment for internal hemorrhoids. Unfortunately, Doctors don't seem to warn patients that bleeding from the anus is normal about 5 days after the procedure when the dead hemorrhoid falls off, therefore this procedure relies on a patient's blood to clot in order for the bleeding to stop. If a patient happens to be taking aspirin or other blood thinners during this time, rectal ulcers could result from the procedure and they could "bleed out", even fatally.

You are awake during this? Wouldn't people be happier sleeping?

First of all, whatever is on the white coat is million times cleaner than what is in the colon. The colon is not sterile nor is the procedure. Did you forget what comes out if that part of the body?

woah that is one hairy ass......

that "doc" just pulled his white coat down after putting on his latex gloves, and then touched the tip of the plastic sleeve that will directly contact the patient's rear hole. so whatever was on his coat (snot, dust, possibly fluid splatter from another patient) is now in your anus. to top it off, he just inserts that glove directly in to your hole to make sure you get that in. nice infection control.
Just had this procedure done yesterday and I feel so good, I could dance! This, after a week of horrendous pain - thought it was a hemorrhoid, found out it was a thrombosis. It was painless and I was back to my normal routine. There is some follow-up you need to do, but this treatment is a godsend!!
