This is part 2 of this 2 parts interview that i wanted to share with you. Eric has been amazing. Here is the man behind the book!
Like Lilou, Eric has an international background. Born in Edinburgh (where he lives today) of a Scottish mother and a South African father, he has lived in Zimbabwe, South Africa, France, and all over the UK. He has worked, amongst other things, as a veterinarian and a teacher of English to speakers of other languages. His doctorate was awarded for studies of pipistrelle bats. He is currently a part-time researcher in the Scottish Parliament. His hobby is playing the fiddle (badly!).
A committee member of the Society of Authors in Scotland, Erics main passion is writing. He has written a novel and a tongue-in-cheek exposé of the veterinary profession, and has helped Angela Bailey write a moving autobiography about her recovery from multiple abuse, which should be published soon. He has other biography commissions in progress. His aim is to empower empowerers.
He comments on his work for Lilou: I was thrilled when Lilou approached me to help with I Lost My Job and I Liked It. I would like to think that I have a talent for helping people tell their stories, but I only work with people whose integrity I admire. I realised from Lilous YouTube videos that she had something special.
Given the tight schedule, this project was a challenge. My task was to let Lilous unique personality shine from the text, and I learnt a lot from the intense and rewarding experience. I very much hope to help her with the other exciting ideas she has.
