An Easter bunny is zapped with a capacitor bank. Current about 50kA in 30us. Listen to the birds in the bush twittering afterwards. Surprisingly little damage to the chocolate bunny (blew the ears off) and the remining foil has had the paint blown or burnt off. www.tesladownunder.com

  • Hey, arent you the guy that sat in the pool with a tin-foil hat and shocked yourself with a tesla coil on Discovery Channel?

  • Guilty as charged.

  • Cap has 16kJ capacity as it stands (28kJ if separate) 50 + 50 + 110uF up to 12 kV.

    This was a 3.7kJ shot.

I have not gone higher than 5kJ as it needs a remote charger and I don't like being close. Setup should be fine with higher powers though.

  • Is it supposed to run so slow?

  • Night mode on the older video recorder has a much slower frame rate. I now have a faster one so next Easter .....

  • What a useless waste of chocolate. Poor bunny ^^. I can see the headline: "Psychotic Doctor blows up an innocent easter bunny !"

But it's funny to watch and very impressive. Keep it up !

  • Gave the birds something to cheep about!
