Its February 1st time to start working the soil for a garden.
Today i am tilling the soil and spreading about half the cow manure i will need.
I use a kubota tractor to till the land which made the job go a whole lot smother.
the area is 30 ft by 40 ft, and i should get about 13 rows at 40ft long so that should be plenty of area for a small garden.
Next step will be preparing small planter buckets and planting seed indoor, for up to 6 weeks or until
the frost is done for the year.
I had to add about 10 cubic yards of cow manure/compost to my 20 x 80 garden. The soil I have is horrible to work with...And I plan to add more....Luckily I can get it for free....Not knowing how bad your soil is, adding more manure/compost helps alot....I wish I had a trasctor like yours, all I have is 16 horse simplicity with a 32" pull behind tiller...It works just takes a beating because of the horrible soil conditions......

Hi Crob227.You can add compost to it and that will help a lot vegs you would normaly throw away you can let compost and then add to the soil even egg shells will help. Looks like we all will have to do this if things get ant worst in the USA .We try to put out one every year it helps a lot plus I think it tastes a lot better. Are there any farmers in your area that you could talk to? Thanks for sharing. Tec
