i never thought i'd see the day when any american would argue against habeus corpus. it's simply a day in court so that if sufficient evidence exists to charge a person with a crime the state can present it. this person would then know what he was being charged with and could obtain council. without something so basic as this a person could be held forever. imagine the outrage if americans were snapped up en masse in another country and treated this way. admit it, we'd go ballistic.
