Lesson from Latin Bass: The Essential Guide to Afro-Cuban and Brazilian Styles by George Lopez.

Cha Cha Cha comes from Cuba, where it was popularized by (violinist or pianist) Enrique Jorrin in the 1950's. To this day, it is still a popular song and dance form.

  • Awesome bas tone and solid playing. I love latin bass lines

  • @SantinoFilippoFarro Thank you!

  • is it considered rude or arrogant to improvise over the top of that bass line? i mean for the Cha Cha style, would it be bad to do that?

  • @cuyamacacc I'm not sure. In most Afro-Cuban styles its perfectly normal to improvise to some extent, as long it is in the traditional barriers which define the style (so I would think).

  • What bass is that?

  • Ibanez ATK 1305 Prestige with a replaced neck.
