My 55G freshwater aquarium during this video has:

2x Marineland Penguin 350B Hang-on filters (75G each).

A heater

265W of compact flourescent lighting. (2 white bulbs, 2 half blue half purple bulbs)

60LBS of eco-complete planted aquarium substrate

And natural decorations only.

It is housing:
-2 angelfish (a true pair)
-1 Pleco
-1 Albino Senegal Bichir
-1 Tire Track Eel (huge)
-1 Fire Eel
-4 danios (3-zebra 1-leopard) that never got eaten by a dying leaf fish :(

My tank is also the home of 2 different types of "pest" snails which are entirely responsible for keeping my decoration detailed.

I haven't had to clean algae from my tank in months!

CO2 and a foxtail plant coming soon!

  • can someone please tell me what c02 is for?

  • @molopi123 CO2 is for the plants. They need it to photosynthesize. They turn Co2 into oxygen in day and oxygen into co2 by night. The thing is they do a lot more work in the day than at night so all together they give more oxygen than they take. This should ring a bell from school when teachers kept telling you to "save a tree" because they produce oxygen.

  • 4/5 love the tank ,GAY fish :-)

  • @xDAVMANx Yes I'm from a rare species called "human" and I have the desire to help other organisms... not ruin their lives and emprison them in a tiny glass box. So I'm sorry if my fish aren't struggling to turn around in their home which they will live very long lives in (since I'm not a retard like the rest of'em) -- but I wouldn't feel right toruting an animal and telling people I love it when I secretly just love to watch it suffer. I guess I"m just a fag too!

  • your plants look like the dieing

  • @greencobra200 Yeah... I should do something about the fact that they're turning green... because I don't want them to keep growing and taking COMPLETELY OVER MY TANK to a point where the fish can barely move... (see more recent videos) -- That's like saying "hey you look pretty handsome from far away with my eyes closed" -- you can run your vagina all you want... the only thing dying are your brain cells everytime you pick up your crack pipe.

  • hey nice tank, some harsh words but still a nice tank. lol what are the plants that take up the majority of the middle of the tank? the plant i am asking about your fish looks like it is nibbling it in the very last shot of the video

  • Hi! I dont knwo if you can help me but my fish is sick I have asked alot of people but they have just gave me websites! And Ii dont have the time to register-join and take days to learn how to work it! I have looked at diseases but none look like my fishes. My 2 New Black moors have a disease.

One has white bit on its fin then a red blob which looks like blood. And the other one his fin at the front a small one is in half?!!! Help me please!

  • @WhatAreWeDoingForFun So if you find out your water is way too soft for your fish... don't do several hardwater changes to fix this over night. Do your water changes in small ammounts so the pH of your tank changes over the coarse of several weeks. I haven't intentionally changed my pH in well over a year and I don't plan to. The pH changes naturally/gradually because of the elements in my tank.... again snail shells, wood, rocks, etc. -- PS: Uncooated rocks are NOT inert even when labeled so.

  • @WhatAreWeDoingForFun pH, gH, and kH regulate each other. Nobody has been able to explain to me what prioritizes over what... I have found that if you let water sit for a few days and test the levels, they will be about even. I can't say which will change to match which, however I assume they all meet at an average value. Each fish and plant should be researched to find what it prefers. You can't always give each organism perfect conditions. the most important thing is to acclimate gradually.

  • @WhatAreWeDoingForFun LoL -- you must live in my house! -- Tap water is always the same in your address no matter what you do. However if you buy a water softener you're no longer using tap water so that can change things. In my case since I have a softener AND a RO filter... I get RO water that is not only filtered but neutralized in every aspect but hardness. So my pH and alkalinity are both neutral while my softness is off the charts. Fish like the water that they evolved in.
