Originally a Boxing Stadium but during the 70's it hosted Rock Gigs, never forgotten by those that entered. Take a look here for the full info http://www.liverpoolstadium-rockyears.com/

  • I heard me..at the beginning introducing the whole shebang...Tosh....

  • @octavedrNo1 You only just realised, it was taken from the BBC session :)

  • Just talking about this place with my son who goes gigging in Liverpool. Saw Supertramp here and many others. Donuts and cheese rolls from the cafe. Rushing out to catch the last ferry or train back to Wirral. looking back it seems strange how you kinda just got dragged along in the scene- long hair, flares, ban the bomb patches, patcholi oil, kaftan coats,or a leather or camo jacket. as impressionable teenagers. Agh well those days gone.

  • @fish5133 Certainly was a great place, the music will stand for ever......

  • @richievegas01 No, never saved a single stub, took a photo or ripped down a poster. All the stubs, images, posters are courtesy of Craigs site you visited . I just have great memories or should I say what I remember :)

  • @PAULPONO Tickets could also be purchased from International Travel, St. John's Precinct I've been reliably informed. (I know a fella who worked behind the counter in there)

  • @xxXXHeYjOeXXxx Amazing video, were all the ticket stubs yours? Legendary place, found your vid via the Liverpool Stadium Rock Years link. Great stuff.

  • @octavedrNo1 Tickets could also be purchased from International Travel in St. Johns I've been reliably informed...

  • @octavedrNo1 Thanks for putting me right. It was a log time ago.

  • @PAULPONO I think you will find Probe did not move to Mathew Street until mid 70s..Tickets usually at that time were from Cosmopolitan, Silly Billies and some from Probe..on Rodney Street..I am 100% sure the Zeppelin tickets would have come from one of those sources and not Mathew St..I stand to be corrected..

  • @DWCartwright Skynyrd played the Empire but never the Stadium..same I think for Santana

  • @xxXXHeYjOeXXxx I know..just decided to mention it..as I said..showing off!!
