  • I really can't believe the arrogance. Just for anyone watching this through, everything that kid in the red shirt said about natural selection was incorrect. To demonstrate clearly your ignorance of a subject and then declare it disproven is the most terrifying of arrogance.

  • @Malevolantgoat What is natural selection then? I guess we were going by Richard Dawkins definition, but possibly you could go into further detail.

  • @Malevolantgoat I will PM you a link for you to explain to me.

  • @chuber1979 and I may have misunderstood what you meant by dependent on an outside source. It is dependent upon mutation and natural selection. The selective pressure is, of course, an outside source but thats how natural selection works (If that's what you meant)

  • @chuber1979 THe first point is both untrue and irrelevant. There are naturally existing antibiotics or antibiotic factors. But as I said that's irrelevant, why do you think it matters if a person is involved, and how do you think that stops it from demonstrating natural selection? The second point you made is untrue. If you would like to quote me the bit you're inferring this from, I'd be happy to explain it.

  • @Malevolantgoat Two things I discovered in my quick wiki-read and further research. 1) the bacteria evolution is dependent on an outside source - us 2) when the bacteria becomes resistant it loses another function, so it's still not gaining information. This is interesting reading though, and I'll continue to look at this.

  • @chuber1979 Youtube doesn't allow links, so I was not able to directly link you to them.

  • @chuber1979 Wikipedia is your friend for this and other basics. Its not a controversial or fringe topic. Read the article on "Antibiotic Resistance" and also "Mutation".

  • @Malevolantgoat Do you happen to have a link? I've not studied this before.

  • @chuber1979 Of course.

  • @Malevolantgoat And this is passed onto children through genetic code?

  • @chuber1979 Antibiotic resistance. As one example in many.
