The sweater with the big ass "P" Phoenix is wearing was a gift from his "girlfriend"...who actually turned out to be quite a bitch! Using Phoenix as a bait so she could get away with another murder.

By the time of that trial, Phoenix was sick with flu or some crap like that. That explains the medical mask he is wearing.
