Lenca solidarity with the people of Rapanui

The Lenca people of Central America is concerned for the security and the human rights of the leaders of the indigenous people of Rapanui. We ask all the parts involved to seek a peaceful resolution to the conflict before it escalates further.

You are partially right, the "Lenca" is a multiethnic region, it includes several groups who where in the region almost 8 thousand years before the "maya" arrived to the Valley of Copan, when Copan collapsed, many Mayans migrated into what is Lenca lands, thus Sesori, Cacaopera, etc became bicultural settlements. Today, the Lenca House recognize these Mayans as our citizens and for that, it is the convention to mention them, rather than ignore them.

its happening in west papua too, right under australias nose yet most dont even know about that let alone the plight of easter island (rapa nui). i feel powerless, i can inform a few hundred people but chances are it wont do much to help. but i will share the info in hope that by some miracle some one, something, can stop the military abuse
