Greenpeace, the environmental campaign group, launched a new ship that it hopes will play a big role in its future campaigns.

The Rainbow Warrior III carries the name of another vessel that was bombed and sunk by the French secret service in 1985 after it attempted to disrupt France's nuclear-testing in the South Pacific.

Built to rigorous specifications for safety and environmental friendliness, the new vessel is almost 60m long, can hit 14 knots using sailpower, makes its own water, and can stay at sea for months.

Al Jazeera's Nick Spicer reports from the German port of Bremen.

  • I just heard the Japanese Whaling fleet has just sailed past the Esperanza and Greenpeace ignored them. "Out of sight out of mind" is Greenpeaces new motto

  • @aussiedownunderman

  • @aussiedownunderman

Sorry all I got in your reply was "IF I KEEP INSULTING IT MAKES UP FOR THE FACT I CANNOT MAKE POINTS..... geee I'm sooo smart"

  • @SalafeeSpot

I know because if you think about it... 1 billion people relay on the oceans to keep them alive... BUT FUCK THAT... people don't live off the earth they live off air. We should just send all our food to Africa so we can feel good about ourselves because saving the earth has nothing to do with saving lifes.

Like all them big Spanish fishing boats in west Africa haven't destroy African fishing villages which is now killing hungry Africans...

ITS ALL IN THE AIR YOU SEE!!

  • @RalphMarx i wasnt talking about the ship. im talking about the name in general.....

  • @tradernorton05 wow your reply is just as intelligent as your first comment. you truely are a dipshit, brainless cunt. thanks for showing everyone that you I'm right with calling you a fucking idiot.

  • @StoryEndsHere yeah so !

it got bombed by the French in the 80s , shut up !

  • Big difference between the Greens and Green Peace.

Politically, people get it wrong. Yes even the politicians..
