I think Indonesian is easy to learn, but once u know Indonesian inside out, u might not understand the dialects, whereas Indonesian-speaking doesn't even understand dialects. That's another challenge :)

Simple sentence to open up a conversation with Indonesian girl:

"Kamu cantik, boleh kenalan ga?"

# kamu (kah-moo)

# cantik (chan *like word cha cha - tick)

# boleh (bo *like ball without L - leh)

# kenalan (ke *like word kebab without BAB - nah - lun)

# ga (guh *you should detain the word in the last vocal)

And the sentence above means "You're beautiful, may I know your name?"
