This is a crude yet functional miniature motor made with a c battery, two paper clips, a coil of copper wire and a very strong magnet out of an old western digital hard drive.

  • Could you make a video on how you built this? I tried to from your design and won't work-- I would like to see what I'm doing wrong.

  • @TheTraveler327 It just takes trial and error. I used paper clips soldered to the battery. The copper wire I used for the main loop had no coating on it. If it is coated, you need to strip the coating off where it goes through the paper clip terminals, so you have a good electrical connection. And, make sure the battery is fresh. It will wear down quickly and then it won't work (the loop gets hot). The battery is sitting on a piece of wax to hold it place.
