He didn't use drugs for the role, nah. I think those are 2 separate entities, he just made a simple mistake and it cost him his life. What he DID do for the role was tons of dedication, locking himself up in a room for 1 month is...something.

The more I watch Heath in The Dark Knight, the more I can tell that he was using medication to pull off the Joker. Even in little scenes I could feel a sense of fear in knowing that he knew he was over doing it. The drugs I mean and maybe he thought he could make it.... but he didn't. R.I.P Heath Ledger. Best Joker Ever

because they're in two different places, because they can't see him when he sits directly under the interrogation window and they need eyes on him at all times and because it's a home made bomb, calling it is the trigger and because theyre all close to the blast radius, so they block most of the shrapnel and the stuff that gets by them is blocked by his hostage....
