i own a 01 second gen and its a hell of a car.

theres not too many cars of the second gens year that can compare to it on the inside and out. the 4.0 purrs and has the power on demand. i think you need to take a drive in one and take that sushi out of your ass.

what european car of the 2nd gen auroras years (01 02 03) are sitll running with no issues?

oldsmobile was closed down because GM was STUPID they decided saturn over olds.

excuse me, adnamarie? Saturn was the leading GM division encouraging the factory line workers to input their own decision making. There is a reason why saturn cars are so reliable, because they are put together correctly, unlike CRAP MOLDSMOBILE cars which had poor reliablility. Molds was an experimental division, putting unknown service record engines into their cars. Granddaddy had one of these, at 70,000 mi, the engine blew! The world demands more fuel efficient cars, like saturns u ho!

also with something as low kms as that (i know i bought mine about 4 months ago also) to make sure the person before took care of the car, the previous one owner of mine never took care of it and would of destroyed it if it wasn't for me buying it and fixing it back to specs and up

The aurora's are no cheap car, thats why my 95 is still in mint condition and running no major brakedowns ever and all original engine, tranny, and battery, All Aurora's use real leather for the seats and it smell so rich I own 2 and own a wonderful Bravada by Oldsmobile's. Love them always and are the best. Oldsmobile's did as much as they could for the amount of money GM gave them which was little, and just add a little info Oldsmobile has done alot for us in the world. The Aurora's did win.

The first generation was a real stunner for it's time. The second generation was a total flop. Problem with this Aurora and all Oldsmobiles of the late 90's and up is that they were trying to compete with sporty or luxury Japanese and European brands and they just couldn't match the quality. They ended up all being cheap wannabe Jap/Euro knock-offs. Mediocre quality AT BEST in an increasingly competitive market just doesn't fly anymore, which is why Olds is no more.

IMO this is why Oldsmobile failed. The 1st gen was appealing but the 2nd gens nose was fugly. Not to mention they are front wheel drive V8s. Olds should have broken the mold and put the motor in the back or just gave it a traditional front engine rear wheel drive layout. I honestly can't think of a more horrid layout than of front wheel drive. I don't like it on any car. It's very uncomfortable at the limit.

Do yourself a favor - perform a fine tooth inspection on the trunk for any leaks - (the spare tire wheel well for sure). Also remove the back seat for water damage - IE rust. Good luck.
