Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a Gram-negative, aerobic, rod-shaped bacterium. It can be found in soils, water, skin flora and many man-made environments. It thrives not only in normal atmospheres, but also in hypoxic atmospheres. This allows it to colonize many natural and artificial environments.
