Great playing! How's the neck on those rivieras? Are they thin or thick and do you know what shape they are?

mini humbuckers? nice.

Actually production of Epis in China is very recent, like 2004. The first place they produced them after the USA was Japan until around '89 ( They still make them there too). Then around 1989 they started producing them in Korea until around 2004.

Lovely. Thanks very much - really enjoy your playing.

Action's high, lower the bridge
Horrible Intonation, adjust the saddles
Can't keep in tune, Change strings, get them stretched out, when putting on the new strings, properly put them on so they lock, or just get locking grover tuners and swap out the non-locking grovers
Grover tuners are the best tuners, in my opinion, american made, ancient design, you shouldn't be having any trouble with them
Epiphones are great guitars, they just don't get good setups before they leave the factory

hey if u had to choose between a sheraton 2 or a riviera which u choose?

I have what you're talking about. It's not the same animal at all. Save for a Gibson or Heritage, or plan to do a lot of work on the Epiphone's intonation and setup.

Here's the difference. When I bought a Gibson, it arrived at my door in tune and with near perfect intonation, perfect action. I just bought an Epiphone Riviera Custom P93 last week. It arrived today. I didn't necessarily expect it to be in tune, but the action was ridiculously high on the upper register, horrible intonation, and I can't keep it in tune. If you get an Epiphone, buy one from before '69. That's the year when they started production in China. Everything else is subpar IMHO.
I've heard that epiphone guitars are not very well made, however they look quite nice and I'm very keen on buying one, yours sounds amazing and of course because you're such a great guitarrist, you can make any guitar a great instrument. My question is, would you recommend Epiphone guitars? I'm an intermediate player and have not enough money for a Gibson.
