okay so.. the script came out of some "midi" software, right? Like maybe.. apple logic or protools? Okay so.. i want to create a graphic representation of midi events that take place in a LIVE performance. Any ideas? If you can recommend any software or readings i would love you. even more.

@livininswing In this case the MIDI software did nothing more than record my performance to a standard .MID file, which was then used as input by a script I found/customized to create 3D objects in Blender. For a live performance, you may need to approach it more like writing your own visualization plugin for a media player. Sorry I don't have any specific software or reading to suggest. Start by looking for a media player that supports both user-written visualizations and MIDI event monitoring.

How long did it take you to put the pavement striping together? That's flippin' awesome! I really like the shadows across the keyboard too!

@theonewhoplayspiano Less than 8 days... The stripes were generated by a script that ran in less than a minute, but I then had to set up the shot in 3D, align the camera and lighting, etc. I also spent a number of hours manually cleaning up some of the shadows that got rendered over my hands frame by frame.
