Reverend Billy announces his run for Mayor of NYC with the Green Party

Let it be known that on March 1, 2009, the fabric of New York City was changed forever. For it was on that day, in Union Square Park, that Reverend Billy Talen announced that he was running for Mayor of New York City with the Green Party.

Reverend Billy Talen is a long-time activist, extolling the virtues of shopping locally, as opposed to at Big Box stores, and that we consumers should think about each purchase that we make, and how it affects the environment, and indeed, the very society around us.

The Green Party has been speaking about these issues and others for 25 years now in the United States, and for almost 40 years worldwide. These two forces have now combined to unleash their collective power on this city.
