Thank you to all who took the time to send Aunt Jean a card. I'm sure that she was cheered by all of the mail she has received. I received 17 emails indicating that cards had been sent. I had a drawing and the winner of the Bulk Barn bag is........Nikbunny29. Thanks for participating.

Thank you also to all of those who took the time to:
a) watch the 9 minute monstrosity that was yesterday's video, to the end.
b) leave me a comment about your preferences.
I think I will probably be doing a combination of both kinds of videos in the future. The main reasons I do voice overs is for brevity and due to the fact that my house is usually so noisy when I'm filming.

Recipe from Betty Crocker.

1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
1/2 cup butter
1 (5 oz) can evaporated milk
1 (7 oz) jar marshmallow creme ( you could most likely substitute actual marshmallows in this)
1 bag (110z) or about 2 cups butterscotch chips
1 cup chopped pecans (and a few more for garnishing if desired)

Grease the bottom and sides of a 8 inch square baking dish.
In a large saucepan cook the brown sugar, butter and milk over medium heat until butter is melted.
Stir in the marshmallow creme and heat to boiling and boil about 5 minutes or until you reach 234F on a candy thermometer, stirring occasionally.

No candy thermometer?
Cook until a small amount of mixture dropped into a cup of very cold water forms a soft ball that flattens when removed from water.

Remove from heat, add butterscotch chips, stir until smooth, stir in pecans.

Spread in pan and let stand 2 hours or until firm. Cut into pieces. The recipe suggests 6 rows by 8 rows, but you can make the pieces as little or as large as you'd like.

I have one more fudge recipe to be posted in the next week or so, it is peanut butter rocky road fudge and this one is worth waiting for :)

  • Were do yo find goses meshing cups and mashmello cream

  • @kuraitenshu1 The cups I found at a thrift store and the cream at the grocery store

  • Regarding your "monstrosity" video .... Some folks like short, some need the more detailed video. It all boils down to what product you want to put out there. You can not please 100% of the people ever, so do your thing the way you want to do it.

  • @joannemspence1963 Thank-you for this :)

  • I'm lactose intolerant. Could I use lactose free milk?

  • @animelover12385 Sorry, never cooked with that stuff so I'm not sure. But I'm going to guess that you probably could.

  • Btw for a lower calorie version use Sugar in the Raw brand natural cane sugar. It works the same as brown sugar. :) I just made some chocolate fudge with it.
