  • I don't soak wood, it swells the comb and makes it virtually unplayable. I INTENTIONALLY oversoaked a marine band, then sanded the swollen reeds flush. When it dried, they receeded. Wetting REALLY DOES promote quick response. NTJ

  • @quinoacat Like James said, soaking eventually wrecks your harp, I wouldn't recommend it.

  • Is that a Hohner Piedmont Blues harp? Nice playing!

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!! Nice slow shufflin in A. I love this key for cross harping. It is a real squawlker on the draw. I like playing a 5-6-7 draw blow shuffle with a slide down to 4-5 in this key. I play a Hot Metal 8 dollar Chinese Hohner in this key and she sounds real nice. The only thing I don't like about the Hot Metal harp is the chemical smell of it's plastic. I imagine the smell will weaken over time. Can you enlighten me on the soaking wooden combs in water?
