The Puppet Show

The Puppet is performed and engendered by Abi Weaver.
The human puppet was first performed with Tainted, at the Shunt Lounge, London October 2008.
The puppet was created by a powerful master who wanted to create the perfect woman to lessen his loneliness. Instead the puppet master became power driven and made the puppet wipe birthday cake on its face and poured water on the puppets head from the 15ft platform that the master was elevated on.
This performance that you are viewing is an abstraction of The Puppet Show and was performed at The Old Police Station @ a Print and Trace Live Art event in June 2009. The performance invited one audience member at a time to enter into the Puppets box and share the Puppets loss of its master over a 5 minute showing.
What loneliness the puppet feels when it has only its shadow to play with and keep it company...the master does not return so the puppet just waits and waits...
This performance is in preparation for Tainted's The Human Puppet Show at The Barge, Battersea (a boat on the Thames) August 2nd 2009 and The Edinburgh Fringe Festival 18th-24th August 2009.
