The Members of the European Parliament are mostly experienced politicians but they tend to have experience of the national parliaments which are very different from the EP in that they use 1 language. Here, in order to be understood, you have to make use of interpreters and that demands a certain amount of a different discipline. Interpreting is not oral translation.

  • I am 15 and am studying French and German. I find languages engaging and would love to have a job as an interpreter in the european union! i shall definitely be applying for this :)
