Ayatollah Montezeri was Khomeinis heir apparent until he turned his back on the revolution he helped found. Despite the threats, he continued to rail against Irans government.
A 2006 report on Montazeris support for democracy and against the Iranian dictatorship. It makes me laugh. The press say we respect human rights in Iran. Its a joke. Montazeri was branded a traitor and placed under house arrest after he questioned his friend Khomeini. He believed all violence to be un-Islamic. There were no political prisoners during the reign of our prophet.

Montazeri is a true Muslim. I agree with just about everything he said. From Israel to USA (except relations).

If more people like Montazeri existed within Iran, there would be no more Theocracy. Only a Eutopian state which does just by its people, keeps the economy a float, does not abuse its power, stands up for justice and above all else, respect the rights of all peole from Christian to Muslim to Jew to Baha'i.
