The Obsessive Devotion (eeeteee No Grunt Symphonic Edit)

An unofficial No Grunt Edit Symphonic Version of an Epica masterpiece. This was generated using SoundForge and MuVee autoProducer in an attempt to remove/replace grunts whenever possible (sorry Mark!). I made this for symphonic metal fans who are on the fence with the dark metal grunts .

Epica, please edit/release two official versions of your albums ... one symphonic/dark metal and one symphonic metal to appeal to both camps and it will definitely extend your fan base.

Grunts are fine ... but they have released no grunt alternate versions in the past ... Let the controversy begin ...

I think the grunts are needed for people to feel the aggression in the song. I think that the grunts are a huge part of Epica. and they are wonderful. But I guess this is a good alternative for those of you with sensitive ears and narrower minds.(not calling you narrow minded. You guys just have to learn to appreciate them) I in no way mean to offend anybody. But I await you flame replies. eeeeeeeekk

God. Everyone shut up about there being no grunts. This person might have made it for the people who don't like grunts that want a version with no grunts or for other reasons. People have their own opinion. Stop freakin complaining.

@francheska28 Umm, well I'm not going to flame you, but you shouldn't call us who don't like Mark's vocals "narrow minded." That's kind of insulting. We're not being narrow minded. We have heard the grunts, and we don't like them. I actually enjoy screaming, grunting, and growling by other, far better vocalists. I just think Mark is a bad vocalist, and his voice is annoying. I respect those of you who like his voice, as you ought to respect us that don't. We all have different ears.

What would be awesome is rather than leaving it completely empty where mark's voice would have been, add something else. See if you can take some of the distortion off and put it in the background? Copy Simone's voice into the spaces? Something like that. Anyway, thanks for your work. Cheers!

I used to hate grunts until i heard epica, they make grunts work with their music, some grunts ruin the music (I am not going to mention any bands, I am talking in general (: )

But epica have something special that just makes it perfect for their songs

i like the grunt version better. it is better when the music is layered with the choir.,The classical instruments, the opera voice, and the grunts.

SIEMPRE hay uan voz gutural que se mezcla con la femenina, se llama CONTRASSSSTTTEEE!!!! la voz femenina es dulce y melódica, por eso la voz gutural se encarga de hacerte sentir odio y oscuridad.
