Unfortunately, the Guardian/Observer archive is down for the years after 1980.
The BFI lists showings of 'Terminator 2' on 3rd September 1994 and 25th April 1997. I think it's likely to be the latter date - those are 1997 weather graphics, it was a Friday night (and it's clearly a Saturday being previewed) and although the BFI list it finishing an hour earlier there could easily have been Scottish optouts delaying it. So I think Friday 25th April 1997 is the date here.

TeleDaveScotland, I wouldn't fully trust kamilek, as he has been adding the (wrong) random dates to closedowns.
To date it better, what was the name of the last programme or film?

The last film was Terminator 2: Rise of the Machines, no continuity or anything before the movie though.
