if anyone has an xbox 360 that doesnt work pull it apart strip the board of everything that unscrews and clean the whole thing with metho and cue tips including every bit of thermal paste off the cpu/gpu plates then polish the heatsinks until they shine, dry it and put it back together and see what happens if it works let me know.
they dont need thermal paste with a cooling system that big and most of the circuitry can take 100 degrees C anyway i have 2 running without it ones 2005

got xbox back from service center today flashing 3 red ring, fan does not kick, disk tray does not open and microsoft support says power supply failure but it has yellow light not red does any one know if this is true or are they liars. This is the second time it has come back from the support center with 3 red rings.

Microsoft has a big red button that they press when they are loosing money and it red rings 100 xboxs. obviously you were playing yours when it got selected to be some of the lucky many.

for me it was working with the rrod for like 5 min. i even took a picture lol
