P.I.C.K is group that was formed in 2000 by a group of parents whose children suffered from kernicterus, a neurological disorder that leaves babies brains damaged due to jaundice. Kernicterus can be easily prevented by a simple $1 blood test. However, most hospitals began cutting back on this type of testing in the 1980s to save money.

Captains of Industry was tasked with creating a compelling video that would bring back universal screening so no child would ever have to suffer with kernicterus again. When this video was shown at a World Health Organization conference, the CEO of the largest hospital system in the United States (HCA) stood up and pledged to implement universal screening at all HCA hospitals from that day forward.

Since then, all HCA hospitals have tested each and every newborn baby. And according to a recent study by Dr. Vinod Bhutani, a clinical professor of neonatology at the Stanford University School of Medicine, after HCA made testing mandatory, there have been no new cases of kernicterus within their hospital system.
