First Call of the Day
At around 12:00 Sunday afternoon, Snow and ice began blanketing the area and calls began pouring into Farmville Communications. Over the course of Sunday March 1st and Monday March 2nd Company 1 ran 30 calls. These calls ranged from MVA's, MVA's with injury, Power Lines Down/Electrical Emergencies, Trees Down, Fire Alarms, and a Structure Fire. The most serious call of the record two days was a house fire on Rices Depot Road in which Company 7 (Rice), Company 1, Company 2 (Hampden-Sydney) and Burkeville Fire units worked very aggressively to attack the fire in the balloon-frame construction house. Units worked throughout the day and night on this incident.
Company 1 would like to thank all the members that helped run calls throughout this record 2 days. We would also like to thank the other departments and squads for all their assistance as well as PD/Sheriffs Office, and Communications personnel for all their hard work
