I did this trip a week ago and I want to scream it to the world - it was fantastic - I know I'll never scale Mt. Everest (too cold) but I'm proud to be one to make the descent into the Grand Canyon. I had faith in my mule 'Lilly' the whole way and never felt "at risk" and look forward to going again. Ps. they haven't lost a rider/mule and after 100+ yrs they are still going strong and care for their animals.

I haven't done this trip yet (my dream!!), but I do know mules, and I know Ron, the ex-trail boss there. Mules are extremely sure-footed animals, and the canyon mules are well-trained. They haven't lost a rider yet. Just follow your guide's instructions and stay seated in the middle of your saddle. You'll do great.

I really want to go on this ride...it looks like such a great experience!! But what if you fell off your mule?...like would you fall down the mountain?...or just to the ground? How thick are the paths??..I mean I dont really want to take the chances of dying on this trip if I do end up going so you know??...what would happen if you fall off? Has anyone ever fell off before??...and um...Has anyone ever gotten killed or very badly injured on this trip??
