@VideoLonghorn Sampson was a legit 7'4 and was obviously taller than th 7"2 Jabbar. Sampson was 7'3 as a junior in high school.

'@VideoLonghorn I watched Sampson against Jabbar and Jabbar was a legit 7'2 and some thought he was taller. Sampson appeared to be at least 2 inches taller. I say he was at least 7'4.

Red was the best coach for a young Larry Bird. Just a confident well-meaning knowledgable basketball man.

Sampson is slouching a tad. In 1986, before every jump ball between him and Parish, you could see about a 3" difference. He had 1" on Jabbar, who was 2" taller than Parish, so it all adds up.. I once talked to Jon Koncak in person; he and Robert are about the same height.

Ralph is only 7'2", Parish is 7'1". Look at their shoulders, they are at equal heights, Ralph just has a longer neck.
