There are 300 years of art history between the Renaissance and the Baroque. But a new exhibition called Painting sacred Montecitorio, accomplishes to tell 3 centuries of history in just 7 works of art.

7 paintings tell the development of artistic creation between the XV and XVII centuries. 7 authentic masterpieces that make this exhibition a one of a kind.

The exhibition is significant because it includes a number of historical moments within this time period. We go from the start of the Renaissance to the start of the Baroque, through the counter-renaissance, which changed the way religion was viewed and above all how it was expressed.

An exhibition that shows the evolution of the artistic movements: for example, how little by little the human body becomes more and more complex, making it what it is today.

One clearly sees the shift from a naïve and primitive painting, as seen in Machiavellis work to Botticellis painting which is harmonious and full of details typical of the Renaissance, and ending with the expressive power of Rubens works.

Aside from the evolution of art, these 7 works of art also review the evolution of man, beauty and history.

The apostles callous hands, show how both religion and a sense of the sacred were reflected in a closer way and more human way after the counter-renaissance.

Rubens, Botticelli, Marchiavelli and Signorelli. Authentic masters of sacred art who have illustrated the Madonna and the Child with a type of grace that was unusual for their time periods.

An exhibit with incredible beauty that brings together some of the most beautiful and most conserved works of art in Europe. A miniature look at what these painters felt and wanted to leave the world, translated on a canvas.
