Bips and bops represent the earth's unending activity. Music from Matthew Barney's 'Drawing Restraint 9' composed by Bjork. This was done for a class focused on music video production. I built the small set, projected images onto it, and shot thousands of photos to make the stop motion animation.

  • I like this. What did you use to project the images, just like an overhead projector or something? Also, what's the grass made of?

  • i used a tiny little projector, really old. the grass is the stuff that architects use to make models of buildings. i built a plastiline understructure and covered it with the grass and rocks.

  • hey man i stumbled on to your videos looking for beck, i like them a lot, this one particularly struck me, probably because of the added layer of projection. Keep up the good work. Are you a film major? or just had a single music vid. production class? Cause you seem to have a knack for it.

  • I'm a graphic design major at RISD. but i like to use photography and film in alot of my work. this video and the beck video were from a short class on music video production. projection is a recent fascination for me, it adds layers that are both controllable and very accidental and i love that. thanks for your comments.

  • hi hyperbuoy! congratulations this job is clear, direct and creative.

    :)

  • Great Billboard Projection. You may appreciate a stop motion I produced called "Kamp." Cheers

  • very beautiful! ^^

  • That's really quite beautiful. Projection is so under-rated in film making, but I'm glad that it's not so popular, because it makes little treasures like this all the more special.

  • fantastic work! thank you for sharing. :)

  • this video is pretty cool...

  • really cool

  • ah it's really great!!!
