This shows a Piper Cherokee making an approach between the hills to Runway 35 at Danbury Airport (KDXR). This is where I first learned to fly. My first solo was from Rwy 35.
I"ve been flying there for just over 11 years - it's a great place to learn contrary to what others may say. IF you can fly at DXR, you can fly anywhere! I learned in a 152 at Curtis Aero (when there was one). Arrow Aviation has a Thorpedo, an Ercoupe and a Piper Cub if you're interested in a LSA license - plus the LSA examiner is there (Tony). I can recommend them - good planes - well maintained, friendly, etc.
do u know anything about the danbury airports learning system? ill be gettin my license around september next year and i wanna learn asap...just LSA nothing special i just wanna be able to fly i know its around like 3800 altogether for the lessons but like what other specifications are there?
Thx for the vid flying down the "slot" at DXR. I was flying the slot a few years ago in a Grumman TR2 and almost to the fence on 35 when I hit the worst shear I have ever had in my flying career......head bounced off the canopy and almost blacked me out. Always lots of shear in windy winter there.........cheers from the lake
Thanks, Slinger. I don't know what JonPurdues problem was. I learned here before that had the tower and fence. The Danbuy Fair was still around, along with Aeroncas and J3s. Congrats on moving up the food chain and thanks for your comment!
