People Spared, Buildings Collapse in NZ Quake

Hundreds of buildings were damaged or destroyed by the powerful 7.1 earthquake that struck near Christchurch, New Zealand. But only two people were injured. Saturday, officials took a closer look at the damage. (Sept. 4)

But many of these cities were built before they had the technology to locate the plates.

The earthquake that shook Christchurch was from an unknown quake line.

I'm sadden by the incident - Christchurch in my opinion was the most beautiful city with it's gardens and English style buildings.
